Bottle. (2006 vintage) Deep golden pour, with microfloaties bluring the body, and a beige head on top. Fruity and caramelly aroma and flavor with some beef-stock. It finishes fruity, with caramel and some roasted malt. Medium body. Quite nice, with a pleasant balance between fruit and caramel. I would like a full body and more pronounced flavor and aroma though. (070809)

Very robust with a high viscosity. Solid ale with a noticeable alcohol content. Nice to enjoy a few of these in a row

Bottle: Best before 10/9/06- Has some years behind it. Thin off-white head tops the copper/amber body. The aroma is predominately sweet fruits (dates), light resinous hints, mild spices and sweet malt. Mild carbonation, lacking in body overall. Slightly metallic flavor. There’s a hint of spicy malt, along with that hint of dates. The finish has some peppery bitterness. Not very impressive, but not all that bad.

THOUGHTS: This was a very nice surprise. Very Brittish, but not as harsh a I would have expected. Very easy to drink. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Bottle conditioned. Poured a cloudy, medium brown with orange highlights and a small, off-white head that mostly diminished. The aroma was moderate caramel malt and light earthy yeast along with bourbon. The initial flavor was moderately swee, while the finish was heavily sweet and lightly bitter with an average to long duration. The dominant flavor was bourbon among very brittish ale flavors. The medium body was oily with lively carbonatoin and a moderately astringent and lightly alcoholic finish.

bottle best before date 10/09/06: pours a real dirty brown with no head. aroma is excellent of toffee malts and dark fruits, sweet dark sugars. flavour is watery and not very full, but nice sweet toffee that finishes a little bitter and burnt sugar like.
