(Bottle) Pours a cloudy amber body with a spare white head. Aroma of caramel, dustiness, medicinal, and a bit fruity. Flavor of malt and light fruit with a dry and somewhat chalky finish.

white head. roasted nut quality to it which made the nose quite nice. roasted nuts and a bit of apples comes on the palate. It died quickly which was the biggest dissapointment. i would think it would last further then october. i should think it would be best as the season turns a bit colder.

Pours a hazed brownish amber with a relatively dense offwhite head that slowly disappears. The nose is tart and fruity; apple cider, cranberries predominate with a light sweetness and even lighter bit of cream in the background. There’s also hints of molasses, caramel and alcohol floating around. The palate is slightly thicker than average, though the carbonation is a bit fizzier than I’d like. The flavor is acidic and bitter, especially in the fruity flavors, though more balanced than the nose. Dark molasses flavors and sweetness in general are bigger here, but still, the tartness throws this beer out of balance. The lingering bitterness is tart with a distinct charcoal quality as well. Alcohol warming is minimum. A bit refreshing, though this isn’t that great or awful.

Smells like apples, raspberries, caramel and corn. Tastes similar, but sweeter, maybe less apples and more of other fruits and caramel. Brownish orange color, small white head.

Barleywine barley and sweet malt aroma. Nut brown colour with white head, lace. Not all that strong, and a middling body and mouthfeel. Fairly simple old ale taste with drying finish. Wood and roasted barley and licorice notes, nut brown, carmel, slightly on sweet side.

12oz bottle best before 10/03/06 Pours cloudy brownish amber with a fair sized offwhite head. Aromas of caramel malt, and yeast and maybe a hint of brown sugar. Flavor is quite similar. Lots of caramel, some brown sugar, yeast, and even a little bannana. Soft mouthfeel. Lots of carbonation. Not too bad..

Bottled, unknown vintage. If you’re going to market an ale as a vintage ale, shouldn’t you put the date on the bottle somewhere? Poured murky brown, with a tan head. Very malty, yeasty nose. Flavor was malt and chocolate. Very carbonated mouthfeel and a dry finish. This was an OK brew, but I like their stout much better.
