Bottled. Pours a hazy brownish/orange color. Strong sweet aroma. Hints of apple juice and spices. Along with some darker fruits. A hint of yeast as well. Slightly roasted. Flavor is roasty and tobacco right up front. Full roasted flavor. Some bitterness towards the end. Alot of flavor but still quite mellow. Mildly roasty finish.

2004 bottle from Utobeer. Cloudy chestnut colour with lasting white head. Excellent hop aroma. Good malts too. I like it. Good balance and nice flavours

2005. Slightly hazed, tanned honey color. Nose is malted fruit w/ full nectar palate. Big bright malted flavors w/ a zing. Very refreshing. Full flavored with ample effers. there is a slight bitterness on the aftersip and finishes dry. Overall; seldom I am surprised. Just when you think you’ve figured the brew out before you’ve had it, bam, it’s an unexpected experience that makes you smile. This my friends is one of those brews. I looked at this bottle for a month and passed, passed, passed. Then the time came and it was written....Coopers Vintage Ale ROCKS... Highly recommended.

Bottle. Batch 4-Oct/2002. Small off-white head that mostly diminished, minimal lacing, carbonated, transparent, and a dark orange hue. Nose was alcohol, malty and some caramel. Flavor was dry, malty, dark fruit, and a hint of honey. Mouthfeel was tingly and dry.

2003 bottle: Hazy light brown color, loads of sediment. (Genius friend went with the swirl and dump method) Aroma had a lot of alcohol in it, and some underlying spiciness, cinnamon... Flavor was kind of lacking.

Pours a really cloudy (no, murky) pale brown. Think Mississippi River water. Has a fairly dense antique lace colored head that stays. Get this - - almost no aroma! Has a dry wine flavor along with chestnuts and maybe a little instant coffee. Sour finish, but not unpleasant. I think letting this age in the cellar would be a bad idea. it would probably just get more sour. Still this is pretty good, but I got effed at $15.99 a six. If Victory made this, it would sell for $8.99.

2002 vintage. Poured a somewhat hazy strong tea color. Little head a a few chunkies. Aroma initially was malty and rich with some cinnamon. Unfortunately that faded in a matter of a few minutes to a lesser version with some cigar tobacco, leather and wet blanket. Tasted of watery dark fruit, mild honey with cigar wrappings floating around. Interesting but not something I want more than one at a sitting. Mouthfeel was too watery.

2004 vintage. Presented as a burnished hazy copper colour with a big fluffy off-white head. Aroma was big as expected - stewed fruit, port like alcohol, vanila and some bush honey. Flavour hits you with a biscuity malt followed up with fruit and a big alcohol kick in the finish. The only down-side is the oddly watery palate. Good though.
