Alcohol taste very present, but not super sharp or bad. Just defintiely present. A tasty beer, but I’d never pay $14 for a 6-pack again. I’d pay 10 though. oh6gdx (8948), Vasa, Finland

Strong candy/bubblegum aroma with alcohol hints. Sweet, caramely, slightly roasty, malty flavor. Quite sweet, scotch ale and barley wine -like, but not unpleasantly so. Will probably get better with maturing. Very nice! ante (2956), Stockholm, Sweden

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 24, 2005 Smooth, yet robust. The tonnes of alochol are consumed in a lathery creamy head. One of the best beers I’ve ever had. PorterPounder (3145), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 18, 2005 Calandro’s Supermarket, Baton Rouge, La. - 375 ml bottle. Pours a murky, light copper with a creamy, thin, slighlty off-white head. Sweet, malty aroma, reminiscent of molasses and port wine. Flavor has a bit of a port like essence, some raisins, faint notes of chocolate, but not as complex as I had hoped. Slighltly spritzy, and not as thick as I would have liked. Overall decent, but missing something. jasonp (1513), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA

Clear amber with a medium off-white head and a bunch floating yeast chunks. Aroma of light fruitiness and a hint of caramel. Flavor has notes of white wine grapes, pear, caramel, sweet malt and toffee. Moderate bitterness. Medium body, subtle carbonation. No lacing or head retention. Overall ok, but I was expecting more.
