This is the single greatest beer ever to see daylight, a work of art, a brilliant drop.
Pity it’s so expensive tho, could drink it all day. bltc99 (4), Melbourne, Australia does not count | 5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Oct 13, 2001 Perhaps the best beer I’ve ever tasted. The Hermitage of beers.

His most glorious Lordship is rather pleased with this ale and looks forward to tasting it when it has matured. He is confident that it will be quite unlike anything else. alepig666 (78), Adelaide, Australia

Pours hazy dark gold, a little darker than the Sparkling ale. Strong aroma of malts and caramel, with a touch of citric hops and some mild oak. Started with a mild hop bitterness, then smooth malt and caramel comes to the forefront, alcohol is noticeable but nowhere near what you’d expect for 7.5% alcohol. Finish is smooth and malty on the swallow followed by a long lasting mild bitter finish. The quality of Vintage Ale varies from bottle to bottle and can change dramatically over time, so don’t write it off completely if your first experience is sub par, because if you get a really good one you’ll be hard pressed to find a better brew. Well worth buying a 6 pack and trying at intervals of 4 to 6 months, although it’s great straight off the shelf too. Excellent stuff. SiddFinch (154), Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania, USA

Also, bready (like a barleywine) but very mellow. Very little alcohol presence. This is like a half and half using a mellow barleywine and an English Ale. This is awesome. This one is to Australian beer as Durif is to red wine. Big, smooth and extremely satisfying. This is a beer to have with a Sunday roast, one which you savour each mouthful. beerledgend (919), Waterloo, Wellington, New Zealand
