On tap at the brewpub on 10/14/07: Transparent bronze amber pour has a wispy-lacing stringy white head. Slightly toasty pale malted sweet nose has some English hoppy balance. Lightly carbonated body has a good British malty sweetness and light bittering hoppy balance toward a smooth finish. Authentic and drinkable.

Draught. Head is mostly diminishing. Body is medium amber. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly hoppy (grapefruit), lightly to moderately yeasty (dough, sweat), with a note of metal. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly unclean. Light to medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation. Unpleasant.

Cask @ CooperSmiths: Poured a clear copper color with an almost white head. Toffee and nutty aroma with some citrus notes. The flavor was light. Light nutty malt with a mild bitter finish. Light body and low carbonation. To style but not mine.

On tap at the brewpub, 4/12/06: Deep golden color with a thin-top and thin body. Lightly bittered. Although among my favorite styles, this was too watery for me.

On tap at the brewpub. Cask version. Pours a rich dark gold with a thick and creamy white head. Has a mild berry aroma. The carbonation is very low making this an outrageously smooth beer to drink. Residual trabeculae of lacing encircles the glass.
