Typical amber color, not much head. Initial taste is sweet, then becomes mildly malty with a hint of hops. Not a big beer, but appropriate for the style . Enjoyable. ReRate: Cask. Very smooth. Nice sweetness up front. Balance with bitterness. Nuttieness comes through at the end. Creamy palate. Nice.

On tap at the brewpub. Cask version. Pours a rich dark gold with a thick and creamy white head. Has a mild berry aroma. The carbonation is very low making this an outrageously smooth beer to drink. Residual trabeculae of lacing encircles the glass.

Not the most complex of Coopersmith’s brews, but goes well with a dinner of bangers and mash.

On tap at the brewpub on 10/14/07: Transparent bronze amber pour has a wispy-lacing stringy white head. Slightly toasty pale malted sweet nose has some English hoppy balance. Lightly carbonated body has a good British malty sweetness and light bittering hoppy balance toward a smooth finish. Authentic and drinkable.

Cask @ CooperSmiths: Poured a clear copper color with an almost white head. Toffee and nutty aroma with some citrus notes. The flavor was light. Light nutty malt with a mild bitter finish. Light body and low carbonation. To style but not mine.

Pours a copper color with a white head. Aroma is malt and earthy grassy hops. Flavor is malty, caramel, earthy and a nice slightly fruity finish.

Pretty mild for a bitter. Nothing really dominates in this brew. Vacation 03
