mj (4975), Colorado, USA Dec 21, 2008 Draft at the brewery. Clear gold. Fresh and lightly sweet honey/pils malt nose and flavor. A bit too much aspartame sweetness, but still very refreshing and crisp. Murphy (1759), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Dec 17, 2004 Faint aroma. Golden color, slightly bronzed. Taste is malty and full, but doesn’t taste like a lager until the finish. Needs more hops, saaz. A lager trying to be an ale. Ernest (4481), Boulder, Colorado, USA Feb 22, 2004 Draught.
Body is medium yellow.
Aroma is
lightly malty (cookie), lightly hoppy (herbs).
Flavor is
moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is
lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, slightly husky.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Little aroma and a grainy aftertaste hurt this otherwise well-balanced pils.
