checkmatei1 (629), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 16, 2009 Draft at Brewery Aug ’08: Poured a black color with a small tan head. The aroma was roasted malts and coffee. The flavor was sweet coffee, dark chocolate and roasted malts. Overall, a decent stout but not top notch. thegreenrooster (1811), St.louis, Missouri, USA Oct 13, 2008 Pour is a black with a small thin tan head. Aroma is a nice roasted and smoky malt with seom coffe in the back round. Flavor is more of the same but not as pronounced. Stll this is decent and a bit heavier than a Guiness. BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA Jul 29, 2008 I liked this beer alot. Creamy mouthfeel with nice roasted flavors of coffee and chocolate, a nice addition of oats give this richness and a hint of sweetness. Very drinkable skoisirius (570), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 13, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. Light aromas of milk chocolate and sweet malts over a retentive think black. Almost a little too smooth through the nitro as it makes this a bit thin with the creamy side. Mainly milk chocolate and weak bitter oat flavors. Weak bitter hops on the finish, and then it dies. Okay. shp555 (1677), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Mar 15, 2008 Pours a black color with a brown head. Aroma is malt, roast, toffee, and some plum. Flavor is plum, roast, toffee, and a roasty finish. CaptainCougar (5374), Rockville, Maryland, USA Dec 16, 2007 On tap at the brewpub on 10/14/07: Pours a mostly opaque black with dark brown edges and a stringy-lacing dark tan head. Semi-sweet dark chocolate nose has a lot of roasted maltiness and some doughiness. Body has pretty good malty sweetness and viscosity with some dark caramel and chocolate flavors along with a touch of dark fruits. A very nice sweet stout. goldtwins (4078), Nesconset, New York, USA Nov 1, 2007 I guess I could have entered something special for 3000 but poor planning on my part. Tap @ CooperSmiths: Poured black with a long lasting creamy tan head. The aroma was roasty and ashey. Some chocolate but not too much. The flavor had a chocolate start with some roasted malt and dark fruits poking into the middle. Some tartness. Dry roasty bitter finish. Creamy light body. Nitro pour. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Oct 21, 2007 Date: 10/14/2007
