Commercial Description:
Our stout is full-bodied and dark. We use a generous amount of roasted malts to give this a hearty flavor. The use of oats in the mash gives our stout a creamy-mouth feel which is enhanced by a fine head from nitrogenation instead of carbonation. This beer is an acquired taste for the traditional American beer drinker but soon becomes a favorite for the adventuresome. 6.2% ABV

On tap at the brewpub on 10/14/07: Pours a mostly opaque black with dark brown edges and a stringy-lacing dark tan head. Semi-sweet dark chocolate nose has a lot of roasted maltiness and some doughiness. Body has pretty good malty sweetness and viscosity with some dark caramel and chocolate flavors along with a touch of dark fruits. A very nice sweet stout.

Black with light tan nitro head. Sweet milk and hop flavor, with maybe some milk chocolate and mint flavors as well. Watery thin but smooth, with a slightly dry finish. Undetectable aroma.

Draught. Dark brown to black, lasting head (nitro). Aroma is moderately malty (roasted grain, dark chocolate), with a note of raisin. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately bitter. Finish is lightly bitter, lightly acidic. Light to medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation.

I guess I could have entered something special for 3000 but poor planning on my part. Tap @ CooperSmiths: Poured black with a long lasting creamy tan head. The aroma was roasty and ashey. Some chocolate but not too much. The flavor had a chocolate start with some roasted malt and dark fruits poking into the middle. Some tartness. Dry roasty bitter finish. Creamy light body. Nitro pour.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours black with a creamy thick dark beige head that just won’t quit. Smooth perfect palate. Delicious licorice and roasted coffee flavors. Incredibly silky and smooth. The carbonation levels are very low. You coulod drink a bathtub full of this in one sitting.

Super-ultra-creamy tan head; super-dark mahogany-black. Smooth, soft, & creamy. Has somewhat of a spicy kick in the finish. Thick lace. Sweet coffee notes. Pretty tasty.
