Pours a pretty transparent mahogany/amber color with a quickly dissipating 0.5 cm tan head. Aroma is roasted malts. Some hints of ethanol in there as well. Start is very pleasant turning into a chocolate sweet but not too sweet middle. Finish is a very roasty coffee taste with a slow alcohol burn--nice aftertaste that begs "have another sip". Consistency is of a porter. A very solid porter.

Complex aroma, malty with a hint of caramel. Dark brown with beige head, slowly dissipating. Flavour is very well balanced, though somewhat bitter all the way through.

Foul sulfury nose. Clear deep dark brown and a low tan head. Toasted malt and a charcoal flavors. Dry roasted coffee finish. Light and thin.

Light black color with a light layer of a head. Mixture of clay and sweetness in the nose. Malty taste but not in a good way - just to malty and bitey - kind of overroasted as you find this sometimes in coffee.

Decent, solid Porter. Starts with a tea-like pour with a decent off-white head. Not much of an aroma - pick up some hints of olives. Solid porter flavor - very dry - not much hoppiness that some west coast porters tend to have. Does not have that dirt like aftertaste either. Nothing to write home about - but a decent solid effort.

Smokey, creosotic stout aroma. Barely-transparent brown, bad label, good theme, cool cap. Acidity, none of the phenols that the aroma threatened, coffee roast. Pretty dry. Probably better warmer. Long, long coffee finish. Right amount of CO2. Good stuff, could be better.

Pours deep ruby highlighted brown, with a small tan head that rushes away leaving just a ring of foam. Aroma is toffee, a good bit of butterscotch, and some roastedness. Flavor is dominated with the butterscotch, with some bitter roasted flavors bringing up the rear. Medium in body, easy to drink but not that impressive.

brown but transparent, tan head, pretty heavy carbonation. In some respects this tastes more like a stout than this brewer's stout entry. bitter, nutty, coffee, smokey. Med to heavy body for a porter.
