kramer (2406), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 24, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear orangish body with a one finger fizzy white head that fell to a thin film. The nose is minimal leafy hops with a bit of a buttery off-note, some light caramel. The butter flavor overpowers the beer too much to make it enjoyable at all. Lightly bitter floral hops on the finish before the butter takes over. Light to medium bodied with a bit of clinginess on the back end. Moderate fizzy carbonation. Pretty bad, nothing turns me off more than butter in my beer. CanIHave4Beers (833), Des Moines, Iowa, USA Oct 12, 2009 Pours a nice copper color with huge head and good lace. Aroma is light but features floral hops. Flavor has a nice biscut malt character and a nice fruitiness with a mild hop bitterness. Palate is sharp. gws57 (1131), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA Jul 14, 2009 Had this one bottled at the brewery in Milford, New York. Nice dark reddish brown color, a piney, hoppy nose, well balanced with a very strong grapefruit and rose flavor, awesome. kkearn (994), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 1, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours clear amber, topped with a large beige head. Aroma of malt, toffee, earth and mild hops. Flavor is initially sweet, with toffee, peat, and tea. Earthy hops gradually build and provide a fairly long finish. Very drinkable. BillWyce (90), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 19, 2008 Pours a nice coppery, amber color with
little head. Aroma of earthy, roasted
malt with a note of (possibly) coffee.
Somewhat thin palate. Peaty, malty
flavor with some hops bite lingering.
A bit better than I expected it to be. AskForJenny (627), Ontario, New York, USA Jul 28, 2008 12oz - Rock solid from start to finish. Copper colored liquid under frotyhy tan head. Healthy carbonation of small bubbles. Nice bright citrus hops on nose. Palate is nice too, with malt fading to spice (nutmeg) and hops. A pleasant, well constructed, memorable New York brewed ale. McGarnigle (302), Rochester, New York, USA Jul 1, 2008 Bottle. Crystal clear copper color w/ ephemeral head. Smells slightly of butterscotch. Malty, slightly fruity (but pulls back dry) and with earthy, spicy hops. Kind of a mess, but not flavorless. Carbonation is sharp.
