Too much yeast taste and not defintive aroma. Leaves too much of a bitter taste in the mouth. HighlanderOne (546), Somewherein, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 31, 2006 Poured from bottle purchased at brewery. I smell hops and wheat, as expected. Maybe a bit shy on the hop content, but a decent mix with the malt. Clean hop, malt aftertaste. Good finish. Sregnar35 (732), Rotterdam, New York, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jul 29, 2006 Pours a nice copper orange with a thick head that lasts. Aroma is earthy and a bit citrusy. Flavor is of decaying leaves, toffee, and apples, with a bit of a metallic finish, sub par. omhper (12299), Stockholm, Sweden

Dusty aroma of citrus and melon. Light ly appley with sharp unpleasantly metallic mouthfeel. No malt flavour, too little hops and a fizzy quick finish. What went wrong here? freekyp (905), Thomasville, North Carolina, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 8, 2006 With a malty nose redolent with caramel and toffee and a clear amber visage, Olf Slugger is a solid American Pale. Fruity with a strong malty backbone, the Slugger is middling in the hop bitterness department. A first a bit thin, further quaffs yield a building flavor profile. Not complex, but solid. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 6, 2006 A dark gold body with a frothy off white head. The aroma was oranges with apples and some toffee. The taste was crisp with apple core and some leaves. An interesting take on the style and I assume the yeast makes the difference. A little more English type character than many APA’s. Cletus (5059), Connecticut, USA
