Apr 23, 2007 Pours a hazy orange color with a white head. Aroma is malty, and fruity. Flavor is malty slightly fruity, with a light bitter finish.

Sampled August 2008 - 12oz bottle, from a variety pack. Pours orange-amber, topped with a large off-white head. Biscuity aroma, with notes of caramel malt, peach, apple, and mild citric hops. Flavor began with caramel malt, complimented by apricot and mild hops. Long sweet malt finish.

12oz bottle. Dark Amber color with a thin tan head. Strong malt aroma with undertones of driet fruit and a bit of peat. Strong roasted malt flavor with prunes and honey and spice in the background. Long lasting sweet malt finish with some alcohol.

Apr 21, 2007 Poured a slightly hazy copper color with a large creamy off-white head. Sweet lgithly aged malt. Dark fruits but a touch of paper. My fault on that part for forgetting it was in the celler for 6 years. Fruity malt with a dry finish and light bitterness. Light warmth. Medium bodied.

Mar 6, 2007 Took the tour of the brewery last year and brought a case from them. I have been searching NJ for it ever since.Very good tasting beer with a nice red color. It looks like I will have to visit again this summer to get some more. A few cases this time.

Feb 21, 2007 Just returned from Cooperstown, I tried this on draft at a steak house. Very nice dark amber color, perfect head that lasted almost to the end. It was smooth and warming with little nutty ending. I went to the brewery the next day and brought some home. It’s a pity we cant’t get it in PA

Jan 1, 2007 The ale was a bright copper in the glass and clear as tree amber. White lacing lingered long after the ale was poured into the glass, suggesting a well preserved, strong bodied ale. Indeed, even a light quaff could detect the noble hops (Fuggle?), but beneath lay tart spice, sweet malt, and hot biscuits. Mouth feel is surprisingly light and smooth for a beer with so much malt (five kinds—I would guess Crystal, Pale, and a Pils were used). A fruity sweetness begins the taste, but the bitters quickly go to work and the mouth puckers, losing what could be a complex taste. Although this is not a style of choice, I have had Pride’s that impressed me for their smoothness despite ABV and hearty filling; this session was a disappointing exception.
