Light nose, very foamy head, dark brown color. Toasted malt with a lingering roasted coffee finish. Too thin - like a porter. Really - nothing to get excited about. YogiBeera (2437), Hamburg, Germany

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 30, 2004 12 oz bottle: pours dark golden brown with a fluffy, maroon, small bubbled head. A thin cream persists. Darkly roasted berry-malt aroma that contains a nice freshness, in spite of an overwhelming musty chocolate flavour. I also detect some burnt nuts and crisp ash. Creamy, smooth palate with a thick milky finish that though lactic and slightly acidic and sour is oddly pleasant. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA

Appears thin. Somewhat tart roasted malt flavour with a lasting watery hop finish. Good beer but I had hoped for better from this brewery.
