Mar 30, 2004 Pitch black body with a huge fluffy toasted-brown head. Smells of caramel, oatmeal, chocolate and coffee. Creamy mouthfeel, toasted flavors, lots of chocolate. Roasted hop aftertaste. Very tasty, easy drinker. Brought to me from Upstate New York by my great friend Jeremy.

Mar 22, 2004 Courtesy of Kahn's in Indy. This beer is nearly opaque and almost black with a medium thick dark brown head. Thin and sticky lacing. The aroma is roasted coffee and some malt. Medium to rich body, with a sweet character here and there. Roasted coffee, malt and some hops in the flavor. The finish thins out a bit and is only mildly sweet, but this is still a fairly good Stout.

Feb 5, 2004 Pours opaque almost black with quick dissipating .25cm tan head. Aroma is sweet and slightly musty with mild hints of chocolate. Start is roasty and bitter. Middle is a little thin. Finish has hints of chocolate and some more roastiness. I must say, I just had their porter and prefer that much more to this. This is too thin and there isnt too much going on here in the way of complexity.

Dec 19, 2003 Deep and dark, brownish head with lace that sticks around. Aroma was pretty roasty. Flavor had the roasted malt , but the sweetness came out a bit more. Medium body, not bad at all.

Dec 7, 2003 Pours a deep black with some ruby tinges, small tan head that quickly diminishes, leaving minimal lacing. Aroma is strong chocolate, roasted malts, and toffee. Flavor is smooth creamy dark chocolate, some roasted maltiness, and a hint of toffee in the back. Medium-full body. My pick for Cooperstown's best brew.

Sep 26, 2003 Very dark brown hue with reddish edges, produced a large creamy tan head and excellent lace. Aroma was that of chocolate malt, plum, burning wood, and earthy yeast esters. Got a combination of sweet chocolate and rich fruit tastes. A undertone of espresso bitterness and smoke also detected. Dry and thin mouthfeel which was it's only flaw. Very enjoyable stout and would recommend to stouties.

Sep 26, 2003 A nice stout, very dark with tan head which lingers. This beer smells terrific once it has warmed to the correct temp. Better than Guiness
