Commercial Description:
Is more like the stouts of England which are somewhat sweeter than the Irish national drink. All in all, "Strike Out" Stout is a very smooth, well rounded "brew" with a full roasty palate.

(Rating #2109)

(Bottle). Chocolate and sweet malt aroma. Black body, gigantic fizzy light brown head. Bittersweet chocolate flavor, touch of roasted malt. Smooth mild finish. Carbonation all seems to go to the head, leaving the body a bit flat and thin. Still, very pleasing.

From the bottle. Pours a dark brown with a tan head. For some reason mine had a ton of carbonization...which is weird, especially for a sweet stout. Not much flavor to it and it seemed watery to me. Bad bottle?

12oz bottle. Pours deep brown with a moderate sized tan head. Aroma of cocoa and roasted chocolate malt. Chocolate and cocoa are the dominant flavors, with coffee, roasted malt, nuts, and some metallic character. Thinner body than I expected. Long, coffee finish.

Bottled. Foamed right out of the bottle.. poured medium-dark brown with a huge pillowy beige head. The aroma picked up dry-roasted darker chocolates with an odd toasted grainy sourness. The flavor had sour lactose throughout with a sweeter chocolate base.. caaramel and some coffee bitterness on the back.. nothing really enticing here. Way too much carbonation on the palate and it really filled the mouth.. lighter-bodied. Not very good.

Dark beer with a short lived brown head. Dark caramel and roasted grain nose. Initial taste is of very roasted grains with some coffee bean bitterness and an almost cigarette smoke. There is sweetened coffee and chocolate that comes out in the finish. It is a little waterery, but not a bad stout.

12 oz. bottle from Premier Gourmet - Pours a dark brown color with a large light tan head that faded quickly. Faint lacing. Aroma is roasted malt and light cola. Flavor is much of the same. Light to medium body. Watery mouthfeel. Nothing special, but worth a try.

Pours a near black colour with a mocha head that fades out as quick as pepsi, yet somehow manages to leave a ring. The aroma is of heavilty roasted malt, smoke, chocolate, mild vanilla notes and coffee. The flavour is equally roasty and smokey, with chocolate, sour coffee, cedar wood, some lactic notes and a metallic tang in the finish. The flavours are too robust for the thin mouthfeel its paired with. It comes across as being harsh and overly smokey for a sweet stout. The carbonation is a bit sharp. I feel like the palate of this beer would be more suitable for an IPA, ESB or even a pilsner. Its actually refreshing, but in a sweet stout, I’m looking for something more intense and full bodied.
