Poured a deep ruby-black (almost black) with a decent fizzy, bubbly light brown head. Aroma is pleasant, a bit mild - roast malt, toffee, coffe, chocolate, a bit of vanilla, some hops. Taste is a bit metallic, light bodied, definitely vanilla in with the roast malt, coffee and cream - starts sweet, but definitely a little bitter on the finish. Mouthfeel is a tad light and fizzy for a stout, even a sweet stout. Give me Sam Smith’s, which this is trying to be like - where’s the fruitiness? The smooth finish? After the mound of fizz died down I sampled a thin stout with roast malt, coffee and bitter chocolate flavor. I’d option Strike Out Stout to the ’AA’ league of sweet stouts. If you pour it like a jackass the head is large. It was fairly sweet, but notes of chocolate or coffee were obvious. Where’s the roast? The aroma is dominated by coffee. It’s basically impossible to mess up a stout, but this one was about as bland as they come. It didn’t quite strike out, but even a stupid Guinness would be better. When I drink a good stout I want it to be jacked... this one isn’t. crazyvin (1254), New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 13, 2005 black with a thick bone color head. A nice roasted presence to the aroma. itnitally sweet but finsihed with a hearty roasted finish almost dry. first time having in qutie sometime pretty much what a remembered. I was suprosed tio see it listed as a sweet stout being that the finish was dry. Grandpa (325), Verona, New York, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jun 12, 2005 Hugh head, be careful pouring this one. It took three pours and two swallows to get it in the glass. It looked great with the classic opaque brew. It was thin tasting, it lacked the robust flavor expected from a stout. A slight sour taste was left in the mouth. I didn’t notice much coffee or chocolate nor a roasted grain flavor. spikee (96), Providence, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 1, 2005 Deep, dark brown, bordering on black. Subtle aroma of cinnamon, chocolate, and cookie. Thin around the mouth at first, but evolves to a smoother finish that coats the throat. Raisins, cinnamon, and molasses dominate the flavor. I would agree it’s well-rounded, but it could use just a hint of bitterness late. Would buy again. Lizabeth (360), east falmouth, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 21, 2005 Bottle. Dark brown with a thick medium-brown creamy head. Nose: burned coffee, dark chocolate, raisons and molasses. Taste: espresso and black cherry with a hint of bitter chocolate. Fairly thin-bodied for a stout. rudolf (1782), Buffalo, New York, USA

Big roasty, almost burnt nose. Tar, butter dark coffee, chocolate green hops. Sweet dark malt at first, milky, tarry, some cherry. Bittersweet finish. Nice & creamy. Good, but I’d rather have FB Oatmeal Stout.
