Commercial Description:
Striker Brown Ale is similar to an English brown ale "with a little more muscle," Land said, and is a "soccer-themed beer." "It’s a smooth brown that’s not topped off with any hops," Land said. "It’s got a very clean finish." --Oneonta Daily Star

Poured from bottle - purchased at brewery. Nice coffee, caramel aroma. Real dark, thick, light tan head. Toffee and nut notes in the flavor. Very clean aftertaste. Kinda of a spicy feel in the back of the mouth. Can’t get over how smooth this is. Nut/oak finish. Excellent beer.

Wow, a brown ale that actually made me sit up and take notice. Cooperstown has a winner here. The body was medium copper with a kahki head. The aroam was caramel and chocoalte. There was also some pears and cinnamon. The taste was dark chcocolate with a hint of oak and a bit of coffee. I like this one a lot.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz into a pint glass. There is no noticeable freshness date on the label. Appearance: The body has a dark brown color with a slight reddish hue when held up light. It is dark but the clarity is still good. Its head has a light tan color and stands about one finger tall. It slowly fades down to just a wispy thin layer that makes some slick lacing. Smell: There is sweet roasted maltiness in the nose with notes of dark caramel, toffee and just a slight hint of hops. Taste/Palate: The flavor has a very sweet and bready malt character with notes of brown sugar, caramel, and some deep roasted notes. There is a very light and smooth buttery flavor as well. Hop flavor and bitterness are very light and offer very little balance to the sweet malt. It has a medium body with a smooth texture and light but active carbonation. Notes: Overall It was a good basic Brown Ale.

Tasty brown ale! Pours a deep brown with a big head. The aroma has some light roasty coffee and some molasses. The flavor has some nice coffee and a well controlled sweetness with some vanilla.

12oz bottle. I picked up a Cooperstown variety pack while in town for BCTC. Chestnut colored, with a moderate-sized tan head. Aroma of cocoa, chocolate malt, and walnut. Flavor is as advertised in the aroma - Chocolate malt, cocoa, caramel, and nuts. Solid, very drinkable brown ale.

Bottle, obtained at Oliver’s in Albany. Mildly roasty peat-like aroma with metallic notes. Transparent dark amber with small fizzy quickly dissipating atrificial tan head. Start is slightly sweet and chocolatey turning very peat-like with lots of roasts and earthiness. This roastiness is robust and continues throughout. A very smooth beer with a nice roastiness. Primo session beer.
