| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Nov 9, 2009 Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz into a pint glass. There is no noticeable freshness date on the label.
Appearance: The body has a dark brown color with a slight reddish hue when held up light. It is dark but the clarity is still good. Its head has a light tan color and stands about one finger tall. It slowly fades down to just a wispy thin layer that makes some slick lacing.
Smell: There is sweet roasted maltiness in the nose with notes of dark caramel, toffee and just a slight hint of hops.
Taste/Palate: The flavor has a very sweet and bready malt character with notes of brown sugar, caramel, and some deep roasted notes. There is a very light and smooth buttery flavor as well. Hop flavor and bitterness are very light and offer very little balance to the sweet malt. It has a medium body with a smooth texture and light but active carbonation.
Notes: Overall It was a good basic Brown Ale.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 25, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours a cloudy brown body with a minimal fizzy light brown head that fell to a thin ring quickly. The nose is lightly roasty and nutty, maybe even a touch smoky, with what is apparently Cooperstown Brewing Co.’s signature note, diacetyl. The butter is fairly well hidden on this one, with the more roast and nutty character showing through. Some light green hops on the back end. Tastes a little watery though. Light bodied with moderate fizzy carbonation, fairly short finish. Maybe one of the better beers from Cooperstown, but still nothing to get excited about. CanIHave4Beers (918), Des Moines, Iowa, USA

The aroma has some light roasty coffee and some molasses. The flavor has some nice coffee and a well controlled sweetness with some vanilla. gws57 (1151), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 21, 2008 12oz bottle. I picked up a Cooperstown variety pack while in town for BCTC. Chestnut colored, with a moderate-sized tan head. Aroma of cocoa, chocolate malt, and walnut. Flavor is as advertised in the aroma - Chocolate malt, cocoa, caramel, and nuts. Solid, very drinkable brown ale. Dickinsonbeer (3543), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 6, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a deep ruby light brown- clear and a frothy diminishing beige head. Aroma is moderate butter- diacetyl but is somewhat balanced by a lot of chocolate malt nuttiness, which I kinda like- but still not that great. Clean flavor- nuttiness, light chocolate malt profile, tons of toffee which is exaggerated by the diacetyl in there- finishes a bit slick, overall pretty clean and refined though- filtered somewhat on the heavy side. Ok- pretty standard English brown. Goodgrief (1161), Middletown, Delaware, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 30, 2008 May 2006 - Yet another beer from my Dad’s trip to Syracuse that he "imported" back to Delaware. Beer poured with darkish brown color, nice head, almost no aroma. Flavor was bitter and metallic at first sip. As it warmed, a little more flavor came out and the beer rose to the "respectable" level. Caramel flavor with strongish nut presence...maybe a touch of unsweetened chocolate/cocoa flavor. Bitterness faded a bit as it warmed, but the metallic aftertaste carried on. Yet another "blah" effort from Cooperstown Brewery...upon which I can only bestow the praise of having a really cool cap (looks like a baseball). Ungstrup (15436), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 10, 2007 Bottled. An unclear dark brown beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of caramel and a light touch of fruit. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and straw, leading to a dry and slgihtly bitter finish. A fine brown ale. Thanks to my friend Lez White in Baltimore for supplying me with this one.
