Pours a clear golden straw brew with a thin white head that quickly disappears clean. Aroma of golden grain malt, corn, and grassy hops. Taste is light bodied, some carbonation with flavors of golden grain malt, corn and grassy hops. Finish is watery with some metallic character but not overly offensive. | 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 4/5 | 6/20 | Oct 27, 2008 Deep golden pour from a can, with a nice thick head. Aroma is faint - sweet corn. Flavor is bland - just sweetish grain and virtually no hops, a bit of grainy sourness in the finish. Palate is surprising - good body and smooth carbonation make this brew feel good going down. Too bad that great body doesn’t have enough flavor to back it up. OSLO (829), Minnesota, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Aug 28, 2008 [Can] Pours golden with a big white head that dies down to almost nothing fairly quickly. Aroma is pretty simple and for the most part just grain--there is a hint of a somewhat sweet odor in there that is not pleasant though. Taste is also grainy and a little sweet with some metallic notes. Body actually isn’t bad for a BMC lager and the finish is of ok length. Maybe it is because I have had so little beer lately, but really this isn’t offensive. Yes, it is one-dimensional and there is some metallic taste, but it is still one of the better BMC lagers that I have had...which isn’t saying much I guess. scooterbub (387), Lander, Wyoming, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Aug 11, 2008 Can. Pours a nice golden color with a decent, clingy, white head that fades same. The taste is of malt, corn and is fairly sweet. The aroma is much the same. Overall, this is a pretty enjoyable beer that is refreshing and inexpensive. unclemike (833), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Aug 9, 2008 The best of the Coors products, with the possible exception of Killian’s Irish Red (and Brown!). If you like a thirst quenching U.S. macro without a whole lot of character you could do much worse than this.

| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 6/20 | Jul 6, 2008 Can - Poured a golden amber in color with a big foamy head that quickly disappeared. Aroma was faintly hoppy with the distinct odor of corn and other unknown adjunct brewables. Flavor was typical of any megabrew lager... certainly no worse than regular Coors, but no better either. I see no benefit to the "extra gold" moniker. puboflyons (623), New Hampshire, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 1/5 | 8/20 | Jun 22, 2008 From a 12 fl. oz. can marked 80507C51R. It actually makes a nice sounding bubbly pour. It is a clear gold with a fizzy white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of light malts and grass. Not that watered down but also not bold. Better than other Coors products.
