Commercial Description:
Coors Brewing Company celebrates the holidays with Winterfest - the nation's longest-running seasonal brew. Brewed once a year, in celebration of the season, Winterfest is a handcrafted brew that has earned Coors much recognition. Prior to its broader availability, Winterfest was enjoyed almost exclusively by the Coors family, company employees, and their friends. In 1986, Coors expanded the tradition of Winterfest to include the entire state of Colorado. The response was so enthusiastic that, every year since, Coors has offered the special winter brew in limited quantities and packages. Winterfest is available on draught and in six-pack longneck bottles, from early November through January, depending on how long supplies last. Winterfest is the perfect beer to toast a new season or a new year. 190 calories per 12-ounce serving and 5.6% alcohol by volume.

Pours an attractive dark clear mahogany with a thick off-white head. Light aroma of kilned malts and caramel. Flavor has notes of toasted malt, bread, caramel, a touch of roastiness and some light floral hops. Moderately sweet with a little bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied with a smooth texture and subtle carbonation. Overall not bad, but very boring.

Poured an effervescent amber with a small semi-creamy off-white head. Aroma of caramel and bread. Taste is grainy, with a touch of caramel sweetness, dry hops and toffee. Dry finish with a a touch of hop citrus. Wow, this was made by Coors? This isn’t half bad.

Dark amber body with a thin but long lasting light tan head. The aroma is grainy with some fresh bread and a little bit of hay. There is also a hint of floral citrus. The taste is light grapefruit with some toast and caramel. There is a nice roasted background in the finish. A well made and well balanced brew.

Pours amber with a creamy off white to pinkish head. Smells sugary with some hints of yogurt thrown in. Taste is slightly sweet with some pretty nice rosey notes shining through. Mouthfeel is a bit watery, but for a product from Coors is surprisingly present. This one felt like a throwback to the days when I considered beers like Ice house a treat. Not bad.

Adjuncty malt aroma with a touch of caramel and spice. Rich copper in color with a pretty three finger tan head. Pretty low key flavor palate, but it has an almost creamy mouthfeel. Some very light toastiness at the end of a mildly sweet malt base. It’s not bad it just isn’t very big on flavor.

Deep rust amber color, not much of a head. No particular aroma to it. Initially unimpressive but has a slightly toasty/spicey finish. Not bad for a macro.

Sampled from bottle. Pours clear copper with a creamy tan head. Aroma is pretty clean but has some toasted bread notes. Flavor is really pretty solid. Balanced, yet has a stong malt profile (bready, nutty) with a subtle, spicy hop addition. Very clean, dry finish. Medium-bodied, mos\derately carbonated. A well-made and enjoyable beer from the Sandlot.

For something stronger and with flavor over their conventional TV beers, this would be a good choice.
