Commercial Description:
Coors Brewing Company celebrates the holidays with Winterfest - the nation's longest-running seasonal brew. Brewed once a year, in celebration of the season, Winterfest is a handcrafted brew that has earned Coors much recognition. Prior to its broader availability, Winterfest was enjoyed almost exclusively by the Coors family, company employees, and their friends. In 1986, Coors expanded the tradition of Winterfest to include the entire state of Colorado. The response was so enthusiastic that, every year since, Coors has offered the special winter brew in limited quantities and packages. Winterfest is available on draught and in six-pack longneck bottles, from early November through January, depending on how long supplies last. Winterfest is the perfect beer to toast a new season or a new year. 190 calories per 12-ounce serving and 5.6% alcohol by volume.

bottle. Clear brown body with a nice light caramel head. The nose has a bit of both good and bad in it. I can smell a nice sugared plum and caramel, and also a wet concrete in the city after a brief summer rain scent that I don’t associate with good times. After the first taste the first word that comes to mind is “raw” something like greasy chicken skin with a copper taste that lingers. The caramel flavor is not coming through in a good way, like a piece of candy gone to spoil. While this will never be a repeat purchase, I can at least say I would drink it if it was free and there was nothing else available. 4 3 3 2 6

Actually this wasn’t half bad for a coors product. I enjoyed it over the period of an hour. I think that if I had to drink it any quicker however I would not have enjoyed it as much.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber with a very light white head. Aroma is non existent, taste is just weird. It’s a touch sour with a slight aftertaste. Maybe this beer was skunky, I am not sure.

It’s not great. but it’s drinkable. I really must congradulate Coors...this isn’t their usual Rocky Mountain piss. But it still isn’t a really good beer...

Bottle from Jungle Jim’s. Poured a dark copper color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with fair lacing. Light malt and hop aroma. Medium body with soft carbonation. Light bittersweet flavor with an smooth finish of short duration.

A 12oz bottle with a best buy date on it. The beer poured a nice amber with a light cream color head. The smell is all most sweet with hints of malt. The taste is a bit sour with a high carbonation feel in your mouth. Nice flavor with little to no after taste.

Great in the simple plane of things...Not a christmas (spiced) beer at all, not even really a winter beer, but is nice. Tasty simple bitters..good ass lacing!...some good malt flavours...some very small decention of alcohol but goes well with everything..one of the best new winter beers for me this season!!

Sampled at Broudy’s Holiday Beerfest Jacksonville, FL 12/2/2006. This appears to be another case of a macro brewer trying to break out with a worthwile offering. Though it only rises to mediocre in the craft brew realm, its light years ahead of everything else produced at Coors. Nice copper hue and thin white head. Body is medium, not at all like the typical Coors seltzer-water. Some caramel and malt and a few rough edges, but still a drinkable amber.
