Commercial Description:
Coors Brewing Company celebrates the holidays with Winterfest - the nation's longest-running seasonal brew. Brewed once a year, in celebration of the season, Winterfest is a handcrafted brew that has earned Coors much recognition. Prior to its broader availability, Winterfest was enjoyed almost exclusively by the Coors family, company employees, and their friends. In 1986, Coors expanded the tradition of Winterfest to include the entire state of Colorado. The response was so enthusiastic that, every year since, Coors has offered the special winter brew in limited quantities and packages. Winterfest is available on draught and in six-pack longneck bottles, from early November through January, depending on how long supplies last. Winterfest is the perfect beer to toast a new season or a new year. 190 calories per 12-ounce serving and 5.6% alcohol by volume.

Decent try from the mega breweres at something different other than the usual rice water and hops crap. Amber with a fair aroma I geuss, better than the usual. The taste is OK, a hint of some malt and hops, but then it gets boring after that. Overall a half ass attempt by a commercial brewer to male something notable. Keep trying Coors.

Pours an dark amber with a floral hop (actual hop from coors?) It’s about as good as the get , which isn’t saying much. I belive I tasted sweet malts. Don’t waste time on this unless you like coors .

Reddish amber ale with a thin off white head. Aroma of caramel and cinnamon, lightly maderized. In mouth, a nutty roasted malt, with definite oxidation, but still quite decent hopping. A nice offering from one of the swill giants. Bought at CJs, Potsdam, NY, Feb. 2006. BB Jan 24 2006.

Despite the brewer this is actually a pretty decent beer. I probably would have been too biased to give it a shot if I hadn’t got this beer in a trade. What a nice surprise. Way to go Coors. This is how you should do the rest of your beers :) Appearance: Pours a noble amber color with golden highlights. It had a thick 2 finger off white head. Smell: Very little aroma to this beer. there is a bit of mustiness in the nose but as far as scent you really need to stretch to find a bit of hop and spice. Taste: Buttery sweet. Very nice. A bit of sweet malt and candied caramel. Sweet aftertaste that seems to keep coming back. Mouthfeel: Light, but pleasantly smooth and buttery. Drinkability: I was very surprised at how palatable this beer was. It not extremely special but for Coors it is more than I expected and it is certainly a very drinkable suitable selection. Hope this is helpful. Cheers! THANKS: Thanks to tgbljb for the trade! Heres to finding good beer in Lancaster PA :) Cheers!

I went into this one without particularly high hopes but found myself reasonably pleased. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a chestnut color with a medium sized tan head. The aroma is malty and lightly spicy - mostly nutmeg. The flavor is tangy and a bit bitter with a light spicy element and a nutty finish. A bit too bitter and tangy but at least the spice was not overdone such as is the case with too many of these winter seasonals.

Nose of nice caramelly malts, unlike any other Coors product that i’ve experienced; amber body with a small offwhite head. Flavor is malty with a hop bite and finish. Not bad for a brew produced by a Macro-giant.

Clear reddish-amber color with a thin off-white head. Thin stringy lacing. The aroma is mildly hoppy with some grain and malt. Light-bodied and easy to drink with light fruit, sweet malt and hops flavoring. The finish is clean and refreshing but not very flavorful. Some mild hops and spice and not much else. All in all this is pretty good considering the source, yet about what I expected from a macro seasonal.

This treat from DarkElf pours a fiery copper, topped by a thin, creamy buff head. Light malty aroma gives way to a biscuity, caramely body with grassy hops, toast, and touches of smoke. Thin, somewhat acidic finish. Granted, this isn’t the best beer on the market, but it is a good change of pace for Coors, and is as good as many of the lower-end "craft beers" out there.
