Light malty aroma gives way to a biscuity, caramely body with grassy hops, toast, and touches of smoke. Thin, somewhat acidic finish. Granted, this isn’t the best beer on the market, but it is a good change of pace for Coors, and is as good as many of the lower-end "craft beers" out there. Pours clear amber in color with an off-white head. Aroma of sweet malts and slight hops. Flavor is malty and sweet. Not bad actually. Styles (1653), Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Apr 23, 2006 Bottles courtesy of Ughsmash. Dark red/mahogany with off white head that fades to film. Aroma very muted, faint spice and grain. Flavor has the same faint grain, some sweet malt, with more pronounced spice and faint hop bitterness towards the finish. Flavor really isn’t bad, just not enough ummmppphhh I guess. Can’t make up for the lack of aroma and watered down body though. DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Apr 16, 2006 Bottle. Clear red-amber body, thin white head. Malt extract aroma. The flavor is a dry caramelly thing with what seem like aged noble hops picking up the bittering end. Way to go, Coors. bhensonb (4341), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Apr 1, 2006 This is unique. Perhaps a diminished version of Anchor Christmas Ale (just kidding). A tad much malt, but the hop balance works. This is really an ale (from Coors!), and it’s tasty. Something of a burnt brown aspect. Perhaps the acquisition of Bass has had a good effect? I will drink more, and it’s likely the only Coors I will cheerfully drink. Kudos. Bravo. Well done chaps. Wiseblood (658), Clarksville, Tennessee, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 31, 2006 Dark amber with lots of carbonation. Spicy malt aromas with some caramel. Mild, grainy flavors for the most part, but a restrained breadiness is also evident. Some hops and roasted bitterness in the finish. Not too bad considering the source. mjg74 (1998), La Mesa, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 24, 2006 Bottled. Pours a dark ruby color. Slightly roasted malty aroma. Some sweetness as well. Some caramel flavor mixed in with a little bit of a roasty English hoppy flavor. Not bad. MonsterMash (58), North Tonowanda, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 23, 2006 Updated: Apr 8, 2006A very solid beer from the omnipresent brewery. There is a reason Coors is a success amongst mainstream drinkers and that is the ease with which it goes down. That ease exists with this beer too but isn’t made at the sacrifice of flavor. I found it somewhat dull in appearance but it was a smoothy, nutty flavor going down.
