OK, we didn’t expect much from this, but it was still a little unfair to have it right after the Girardin Gueuze Black Label. Pours a dark amber colour - actually looks pretty nice. Aroma is sweet, not unpleasant, but grainy. Flavour is grainy as well, with some mild caramel notes and a hint of hops. Pretty much what you’d expect from a macrobrewed winter ale. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 8, 2006 Nice brown Belgian appearance, head and malty aroma. Hoppy initially, dry and nicely malted but very drinkable after that, spice in finish. Not complex but pleasantly surprisingly solid beer by the macro. Full carbonation leading to medium mouthfeel. Dry but spice and sweetness in aftertaste.

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 3, 2006 This beer poured a nice amber color. A very creamy and slightly brown colored head. The head lasted the entire beer, stayed creamy and had some lacing. The aroma was very malty. Taste was slightly sweet malt. When I got about 3/4 of the way through the glass I realized this tastes like a VERY weak Rougue American Amber. I thought the beer was actually enjoyable and quite drinkable. tupalev (2618), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada

Stale malt, sugar aroma. Dark orange, no head. Some sweet flavour, stale, some earthy old hops. Pretty boring, but not wretched. blankboy (3214), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Pours a clear dark amber with a spare diminishing white head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt and not much else. Flavour of grain and caramel malt with a really light bitterness. Light to medium bodied. It’s not as bad as I feared but it’s O.K. at best. jerc (3947), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Feb 24, 2006 B ottle. Dark amber, samll white head. Sweet saccharine aroma, muted caramel. Rough grainy caramel malt, almost light astringency at times but that is not the right word. Light palate. Really rubbed me the wrong way for some reason.<P>
