Hollywoodt (170), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Sep 6, 2008 Thanks to the wife for picking up a growler of this for me. Poured a dark brown with a light tan head that dissipated quickly. The aroma was malty, and not terribly hoppy. The flavor was kind of muddled with too much going on, and a very sweet off-taste. Meh. Nothing fantastic. jtw (919), farmington, Michigan, USA Jul 2, 2008 on draft at the brewery (and out of a growler at home). the color of rich mahogany, not hazy but certainly not clear. a muddled aroma of cocoa, hops, slight alcohol, some nutmeg-like spice - quite a complex array of smells. spicy and malty and not nearly as hoppy as i would expect for 10 varieties of hops, although simply the # of varieties of hops is no guarantee of its overall hoppiness.

i appreciate the commemoration of 10 years, but it’s too much for one beer - enjoyable, but there’s too much "flavor noise" for it to score very highly.
