lumberjack (147), Michigan, USA Nov 28, 2008 Aroma is grapefruit. Taste is of very citric hops with a fair amount of malt sweetness to balance it out a bit. Palate is thicker than many IPAs. This is on the bitter side, even for the style, but I enjoyed i very much. Nice example of a West-coast style IPA. Nephilium (448), Ohio, USA May 14, 2008 Strong citrus/pine hop aroma. Pours a clear orange/amber with a quickly fading white head. Nice grapefruit hop punch at the beginning of the beer, fading into a touch of caramel. Long bitter finish. A very drinkable IPA. kseecs16 (601), Westmont, Illinois, USA Nov 22, 2007 Draught at the brew pub. Very hoppy with the cascade piney aromas shining through. Body is assertively hoppy tasting but maintains balance. Decent mouthfeel. Reading the other ratings this beer seems inconsistent, should try to re-rate. Precept53 (113), West Bloomfield, Michigan, USA Jul 22, 2007 All I can say is HOPS, HOPS and more HOPS. Way to many for its own good, way to bitter and very rough on the palte. Hollywoodt (170), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA Dec 16, 2006 Thanks to the wife for picking up a growler for me. The problem is, the waitress was supposed to bring the Oatmeal stout, and not this. So, this is what I get to rate. This pours to a dark amber color with minimal off-white head. The aroma is completely dominated by the hops. The flavor is basically the same... hops. This is what I half-expect from an IPA, but wow. One dimensional is a perfect description for this brew. I didn’t find this to be good at all.
