Pailhead (2322), Allen Park, Michigan, USA Dec 28, 2006 On tap: The aroma is roasty with notes of cofee, nuts, and a hint of chocolate. Dark brown with some faint orange hilights and a small beige head. The flavor starts with moderate coffee and nuttiness with some very subtle chocolate. It finishes with some black coffee bitterness. redmosquito (172), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA Jun 30, 2005 Dark brown with hints of red, and a solid beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee and burnt toast, real thin on the hops. The flavor is bitter then malty, sweet toffee and roasted. The finish is okay quick and thin. Overall, not a bad robust porter, a good example of the style, but not overly exciting (i’ll order the IPA next time). jtw (916), farmington, Michigan, USA Oct 13, 2004 draft at the brewpub. interesting roasty, lightly hoppy aroma. if it weren’t a porter, i would guess it was cascade hops in there. lots of whitish head, lots of roastiness in the body, with a good mouthfeel but it’s a tiny bit thin on the finish. lasting malty aftertaste. good straightforward porter. GregClow (2345), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 28, 2003 MIBG Fest: Ruby-brown colour. Aroma is smoky and roasty. Flavour is dominated by roasted coffee, with some smokiness in the background.
