Commercial Description:
Oktoberfest is the celebration of Crown Prince Ludwigs wedding. It is a two week affair (actually 16 days) ending on the first Sunday in Octoberfest (that is why it is in Sept. and Oct.) It began Sept. 22. This beer is a classic German Oktoberfest. It is rich and malty, with a clean lager character. It is not hoppy (31 IBU's) and has a smooth, dryish finish. It is approx. 6.3 % abv. Food Pairings: This beer goes with dishes like those you would serve the Alt or the Springbok with, e.g. rich meaty dishes like the Steaks and it is a great aperitif also. Similar Beers: all the classic German Oktoberfests like Hacker-Pschorr and Paulaner Quick Description: this is a rich, malty lager with a nice amber hue.

burnt orange color, lightly malty with some butterscotchy (maybe diacetyl) aromas. nutty, toasty, buttery flavors. walnut, and some european hops, perhaps too much hops but still a smooth, easy drinking oktoberfest. pretty good, really.

Not the best impresson of this style. A fairly decent malt note in the aroma. A little too hoppy for a good Octoberfest.

Deep red amber with some dark chestnut brown hues. Little to no head, quite clear. Aroma has some sour hops smell, grainy wheat flavors and maybe a touch of alcohol. Begins mildly bitter, has a decent hops bite to it and a moderately grainy mouthfeel. Some astringency and sourness problems, and the alcohol asserts itself too much because, once again, there is little to no malt presence. Carbonation level is ok. Tons of soapiness on the finish, one thing I absolutely hate. (well Im sure no one likes soapy beers).

Nice head and lacing. Great color that catches the light well. I grabbed a couple of bottles of it for a party and everyone was pleased with it.
