Followed up with a ton of coffee in flavor. Seems to be too much coffee - a little unbalanced. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 22, 2007 On cask at the 1/27/07 Atlanta Cask Ale Tasting: Pours an opaque black with a frothy, well-lacing tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee beans with a touch of vanilla bourbon oak. Body starts fairly full and dark malty sweet with lots of dark chocolate and mocha flavor toward a balanced, smooth chocolatey finish. A nice brew with good balance and oak flavor. jrob21 (1275), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 29, 2007 On cask at Atlanta Cask Ale. Jet black color. Overwhelming aroma of coffee that surprisingly does not follow through to the taste of the beer. That’s ok though ’cause I like some coffee. Otherwise the beer is light bodied to be aged on oak. aracauna (2391), Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 28, 2007 I tasted the cask version of this at the Atlanta Cask Ale fest. Hazy ruby black. This has a big coffee aroma, and it’s a bit ashy. This could really use a richer malt flavor to back up the coffee and provide a bit more balance. wpp83 (64), Athens, Georgia, USA

Great taste that was big on the espresso flavor that complimented everything about this beer. Perhaps the greatest part of this beer however, was not the flavor, but the mouthfeel that was enhanced by the smooth creaminess provided by the nitrogen tap. Outside of that this is one brew that (if I am in the Copper Creek pub) I will look for every chance I get. jcc83 (137), Athens, Georgia, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Oct 19, 2004 Pours a beautiful pitch black, capped by a thick tan nitro head with good lacing. Aroma is dominated by the heavenly bitter aroma of roasted espresso beans. Flavor is all rich espresso up front, followed by assertive notes of raosted malts and bitter dark chocolate. Mouthfeel is sublimely thick and creamy, the consistency of rich chocolate milk. I confess to really enjoying a stout on a nitro tap, and this one hits the spot. Absolutely delicious, and one of my favorite stouts in recent memory.
