On tap at the Brew House. Not that awesome of an Espresso Stout. Very dark, with dry nutty flavors. Flavor was good, but mouthfeel was off. Very watery in the mouthfeel, little to get your mouth around. These kind of beers should be more substantial.

On tap. Black with a frothy white head. Big coffee and chocolate nose. Flavor is bittersweet espresso, roasted malt and chocolate. Very rich. Creamy on the palate. Very nice.

Deep chocolate brown almost black. Overwhelming coffee on the nose. Large coffee flavor with a chocolate kicker. Medium light bitter. Medium full bodied beer with good carbonation. A very nice stout.

Cask at the Atlanta Cask Ale Tasting. Pours jet black with a very short-lived bubbly tan head. The aroma is dominated by the espresso, roasted almost to the point of burnt. The underlying dark malts are there to balance things out. The taste follows the aroma with the espresso up front on top of the chocolate and dark malts. The finish is exceedingly dry and slightly burnt with the espresso lingering in the aftertaste. The mouthfeel is pretty thin with little carbonation and lots of espresso bitterness. I’m a big fan of coffee stouts and I enjoyed this one though it was a bit too much of the burnt side for my liking.

Cask Beer Festival Atlanta. Watery. A friend told me to try it, that it was great. But right next to it was Blackstone’s Mesa Stout that did it right. I cant find that to review here but it was a really good coffee beer with the right body.

Appearance: Pours a black body with a very, very miniscule tan head. Smell: Used espresso grinds with lesser notes of unsweetened chocolate and dark malts. Taste: Dark maltiness with a semi-sweet chocolate flavor. The coffee flavor is prounced and distinct, but kept in check, none of those pesky acrid or exceedingly burnt flavors. Medium earthy bitterness. More maltiness and coffee on the finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Mild carbonation. Drinkability: Not bad at all!

Cask at Sweetwater (& again at ABC). Poured dark with tan head. Aroma of roasted coffee. Flavor also very coffee with some light chocolate, not really any hops. Mouth is smooth and a little thin. Good beer if you like a little beer with your coffee.
