sebletitje (1874), Tampa, Florida, USA Dec 15, 2008 On tap at Copper Creek, although the name did not mention Imperial.
Pours black, with tan head.
Gained a lot of flavor with room temperature.
Aroma has plenty of roasted coffee malts coupled with chocolate.
Taste is very smooth, wonderfully torrefied, giving a hint of coffee undertone.
Very good. Hank1980 (732), Athens, Georgia, USA Dec 4, 2008 On tap at CCBC - not cask. Poured dark brown with tan head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, roasted malt. Taste is a little of coffee, chocolate, bitter malt. Not too roasted notes are not as heavy as with some others. Body is smooth. Overall, a solid easy drinking porter with a nice body. fro2218 (466), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Oct 1, 2007 On cask at the classic city brew fest 2005. I had had a few by the time I wrote notes on this one. All I can make out is: "...light body, but big on taste..." SpringsLicker (2041), Tennessee, USA Apr 18, 2005 Cask at Classic City Brewfest.
This one starts out quite nicely with a complex chocolate, vanilla and alcohol aroma coming from a dense dark brew. Starts sweet with some nice bitter roasty notes and returning to the sweet side in the finish. One of the better ones served in a sea of light lagers that afternoon. aracauna (2357), Georgia, USA Apr 17, 2005 Mmm, this was a good one. They were serving this on cask at the Classic City Brew Fest. Very dark, with a bit of mahogany around the edges. Loads of chocolate define this beer, with a bit of bitter roast around the edges. Sweet, but the sweetness is needed to cover the ample alcohol that starts to poke through a little aggressively in the finish when the beer reaches room temperature.
