The aroma is pretty subdued - metallic malts, maybe a little vegetables. Some sweet sugary malts come out as it warms.
The flavor is sweet malts with some sugary candy with a bit of bitterness to finish. Sour mash comes out some as it warms. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with sharp carbonation.
Overall, a small step above macros - nothing too exciting. jbuzz (661), South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

Good body thick malty taste and feel. light brown sugar, dark corn syrup which was surprising given the look of the beer. suddenlyissoon (2), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA does not count | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | May 2, 2008 Did I drink something different that the rest of you? | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 10, 2008 Dark amber to copper color with a diminished off white to beige head. Scents of caramel, light brown sugar, dark corn syrup and hint of sweet herbal hops. Sweet malt and grain start, Perhaps a touch of sour mash, but a bit of a reach. Actually I think I’d like to distill this (if legal). because it is just another amber as is. Some light hints of hops in the finish and linger. Actually coming from LaX, not bad. | 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Apr 2, 2008 12oz bottle from Keg N Bottle in Isla Vista. Ten bucks for a 24 pack, and definitely better than other offerings around this price. Amber with a plentiful white head. Sour and caramel aroma is a little odd and not too pleasing. The flavor is like a light lager with some caramel syrup poured in to make it sweet and a little cloying. No hops to pull that sweet sugar in line. Light and syrupy body that sticks to the back of your tongue. This is pretty bad, but much better than la crosse light. joohefner (380), Isla Vista, California, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 28, 2008 bought this for 3.50 a six pack so i have to admit that my expectations were not high. interesting, not really bad but different. the beer comes off as a malty cider. tons of tart apples which normally would be bad but it almost tastes decent if you dont focus on the fact that this is supposed to be an oktoberfest. rather unimpressive appearance though, very light carbonation and no head. | 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 10/20 | Feb 2, 2008 Aroma intrigued but very sour to the taste buds. I’ll agree there is a hint of bourbon but needs to show through a bit more for this beer to be appreciated (by me, anyway). IlanMan (850), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 30, 2007 Poured a thin head with a golden color. Aroma of light hop and bourbon. Taste was very light bourbon which I thought added a good character to the beer. I might buy again just for the experience.
