Bottle shared by Hophead22. Very strong carmel aroma. Tastes of mealy apples. Good beer but I agree with Hophead22 and mspindler that the regular version is better.

Bottle shared by Hophead22. Pours a murky dark reddish brown with a tan film. Aroma is boozy and the barrel really stands out. Hops are less obvious than the original. Flavor is much the same as the original, but the hops have died off and are replaced by booze and wood. Roasty malts are still there. Feels thinner bodied than the original. Fruity and astringent. Not bad, but it’s hard not to compare it to the far superior regular version.

22oz hand bottle from Freddy at Beverages 4 Less, big thanks for the opportunity to try this. Smells fantastic, just a little sweeter than the regular version. Tastes kind of like apples, slight wood character. Pretty good, but I think the regular version is better.

On-tap at the brewery. Pours ruddy looking red/brown with a moderate sized offwhite head, good lace. Smells malty and sweet with a good dose of sour wood and a touch of booze. Tastes of sour wood mostly with a good bit of booze, straight whiskey. Some sweet malt flavors through the middle but the sour wood really overpowers everything. Gets better as it warms up but its still sour. Full body, good carbonation.

On tap at Toronado’s in San Diego, served in a trappist glass. This awesome brew is the first Coronado Brewing Company offering that I’ve really liked. A deep red color with strong and pleasantly sour aroma. Taste was complex but not overbearing, with definite bourbon notes and sweetness. A slight sour finish.

On tap at the Brewery. Pours a very dark brown with a faint ruby hue. Head on this beer was a very small beige ring. Big aromas of bourbon, oak, with a touch of hops and booze. Flavor was sweet oak, bourbon and vanilla with the hoppiness of this beer still showing through somehow. They did a great job on this beer, if you live in San Diego, get to the brewery and try this!

On tap at Coronado Brewing Co. Dark red amber coloring with a thin off white head. Pour was in a small tulip glass. Aromas of oak, sweet malt and some alcohol heat. Medium to full bodied and very smooth in your mouth. Caramel, toffee, candied sugar with a balanced hop presence. Whiskey notes in addition to these. The finish was somewhat dry and very long . Excellent beer.
