Smoother and lacks the hoppiness of the Island Pale Ale. Great balance and a drinkable session beer. hopdog (5601), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 3, 2004 On tap at a fish taco joint in San Diego ( I can’t recall the name). Served a bit on the heavily chilled side. Nothing too exciting. Amber in color. A faint malt aroma in the nose. Light to medium bodied and kind of smooth on the palate. Mostly malt, caramel flavors with a mild hoppiness. I’d like to give this one another chance sometime. BeerLimey (1873), California, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 14, 2003 (tap) The best of the Coronados imo. I was told this beer still needed a few more days until it reached its full flavor. If so, I can only imagine how good this will be then. Wonderful hoppy flavor, nice aroma.
