Commercial Description:
This golden colored ale is smooth, light in flavor, and still retains a slight crispness in its finish, very similar to a European-style pilsner. Our Coronado Golden is delicately hopped with Czechoslovakian Saaz hops, traditionally used in making the classic pilsner. It is our most popular beer at our restaurant and considered our gateway beer into the micro-brew world.

Draft… RBSG ’08… Clear, light yellow ale with a mid-sized, wispy, white head. Excellent retention. The aroma is so subtle; I’m unable to pull much from it. Light-bodied and spritzy. The flavor is mostly nondescript, but does lean barely on the bitter side of balance. Short, crisp, clean finish. Innofensive, mild, refreshing beer.

Drinkable, but not something I would buy again. A crisp looking golden colored beer with rapidly receeding white head. Corny, malty aroma with a lightly hopped and slight malt flavor. Aftertaste is metallic and bitter.

On tap, all over the place. I understand this is not a beer nerds dream beer style, but I like it. It’s got a nice hop bite, clean refreshing.

FYI - Coronado Brewing Company doesn’t do a sampler, and although they still have the little sample glasses displayed at the bar it was like pulling teeth to get them to let us freaking try the beer in sample size! I mean - when you’re driving you can’t exactly have a pint of every beer a brewpub has to offer... ANYWAY - the point is our waitress was a b-word, but the bartender finally relented and sold us three tiny glasses for the price of one pint.. the moral to this story is that all of their beer was well below average and wasn’t even worth the fight to try them. Don’t go here!

Sample at the brewpub. This brew is a clear yellow-gold color with a minimal white head that fizzes away quickly. Spotty lacing. Mild hops and malt aroma. Light-bodied with light hops and malt flavors, along with a hint of hay and corn. The finish is mildly spiced hops and does not linger long. Barely passable overall.

had many of these on tap at the CPO Cantina (F-Troop) at NASNI, San Diego, California.
pours a golden yellow with a medium size white head.
smell is of corn, slight malt.
taste is crisp, good for a hot day, corn, few hops, some grain, touch of citrus.

Sorry. Couldn’t finish it. Frothy explosive head on top of golden pour. Very carbonated on tongue, almost overkill. Taste of corn and some metallic finish that i couldn’t put my finger on.

Pours hazy amber with a large head. Aroma is of corn. Taste was awful. After a few drinks I couldn’t get past the "ashtray" taste this brew left in my mouth. I ended up pouring out the rest. I don’t know if this was a bad bottle or what! Would not recommend.
