Commercial Description:
This golden colored ale is smooth, light in flavor, and still retains a slight crispness in its finish, very similar to a European-style pilsner. Our Coronado Golden is delicately hopped with Czechoslovakian Saaz hops, traditionally used in making the classic pilsner. It is our most popular beer at our restaurant and considered our gateway beer into the micro-brew world.

Draft at brewpub. Poured golden color with a moderate frothy white head that diminished slowly with minimal lacing. Light sweet aroma. Light to medium body with a thin texture. Light sweet citrus flavor with a light sweet finish of short duration.

Kind of a cloudy golden color with some good spices. Taste is pretty dry like a pilsener. Really, I liked this much more than their Red and was pretty pleased overall with it.

Bottle fro BevMo La Mesa. Pours a clear Golden color. Dry malty aroma. Flavor is some cardboard flavor. Not a very strong effort.

DRAFT Very fair local that has decent bite. Very similar to IPAs of similar ilk. No head, and little flavor outside of the bite. A very fair option for a San Diego local.

Bought this 22oz bottle at BevMo in Mission Valley, CA. Pours a clear golden color with a bubbly white head. Grassy malt aroma. A hint of bitterness. Dry taste. Nothing special. Some maltiness as well.

Keg. Clear gold with a bubbly head. Aroma is bitter grain and metal. Flavor is okay. Some dry malt with the grassy flavors, but ends with the metallic bite. Good enough, but nothing special.

On tap at CBC - Golden color with light head. Vey light grain aroma. Very little malt flavor. Beer leans toward the bitter side. I’m was a little disappointed. I talked with the brewer and he said they are using only dry yeast in all their beers at this time. That could explain the lack of real flavor in most of their beers.

Draft at brewery in Coronado, CA: Clear gold, island of head, no lacing. Nose of husky pale malt and metallic hops. The flavor is fairly bad with a dry bitter mouthfeel and tinny finish. Not a good start.
