As soon as I start to prise off the crown cap the whiff of fresh juicy hops is desperate to escape the bottle. Wonderful hoppy nose, very hoppy in the mouth, some silky honey flavours, furry roof of the mouth bitterness, lovely drop of stuff. A7 A4 F7 P4 Ov14 4.0 bb (2930), Martinez, California, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 13, 2009 Bottled GBBF 09. A hazy ginger to amber coloured beer with a whitish pillowy head. A massive hoppy aroma with big malts and lots of alcohol. Certainly suggests more than 8.5%. Again big in the mouth and delightfully balanced. Big piney bitterness and a full warming body. Great depth, not subtle but very tasty. MesandSim (5946), London, Greater London, England
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 11, 2009 A Mes rate: bottle at the ever brilliant Chris O’s Pre GBBF Extravaganza. Hazy gold with an excellent white head. Glorious tropical fruit hops. Bitter as hell. Really good malt base. Fairly balanced and very drinkable considering what it is. Full of hoppy floaters. Stinging dry finish that is a little big wrong but oh so right. Fantastic beer. Magicdave6 (5558), London, Greater London, England
| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Aug 7, 2009 Bottle at the legend of Chriso’s pre GBBF09 Tasting. Alround rating: Massive hops, like incredibly intence lychee orange peel mango fruity amazingness, the body is up the the task of balancing it but there still a huge bittering dryness in the finish. The answer to all this immence hoppyness seems to be because the beer is dry hopped in the bottle as i found out when i took my last drink to then pull a few hop leafs out my mouth. Utterly outstanding! jonno (603), Brisbane, Australia
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 7, 2009 This was really good. Not amazing, but the hops were quiite big on this and whilst not going out of it’s way to differentiate itself from others in the style, more than held it’s own. Burning. Unpleasant. I couldn’t get anyone to finish my glass and had to feed one of Chris’ plants. ghawener (965), San Salvador, El Salvador
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 6, 2009 Bottle: One of the 8 hops is just a bit too much, leaves a bitter / acid aftertaste that outshines everything else. Maybe it is called idiot for a different reason. Food Pairing: Spicy Indian food.
