| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 7, 2008 Sampled at Big Pour Mesa, AZ. Bright burnt orange body with hints of garnet accompanied by a whispy white head that diminishes into nothingness. Similar to Green Flash Hop Head and Lagunitas Lucky 13 in that it is a very hoppy interpretation of the style. Citrus, lemongrass, and pine followed by malt. Lingering finish. Looks very impressive. Reduces slowly to a rocky topped pillow. Dusty aroma with some roasted grains, a hint of bitter chocoalte, straw and some dired flowers. Color is a nice dark mahagony brown. Roasted grains, harsh hoppy bitterness and very dry on the palate. Some spices also. Finishes dry with a bit of lingering bitterness. A pretty good amber ale. Sparky27 (1608), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
