Both were excellent. This amber ale was clear red rust in color with 1/2 inch head. It came from the tap at this this very comfortable bar in downtown San Diego. Smells like a walk along the railroad tracks in the summer: a little metallic malt beneath a fresh bouquet of nuts, grasses, and sweet wildflowers. Some salt. Good quaffable palate. A nice, solid one from one of SD’s best brewpubs!
