On cask at the SD Brewing Company; aroma was standard for the style with slightly more hop presence than expected. Caramel and fruity. Flavor was similar with a good amount of bitterness in the finish. Solid caramel, bread and fruit malt presence. Crisp in the finish.

This ale was enjoyed at the Manchester Hyatt in San Diego, Redfields bar had two Coronado beers. Both were excellent. This amber ale was clear red rust in color with 1/2 inch head. It came from the tap at this this very comfortable bar in downtown San Diego. The beer was full of flavor of hops and a hint of brown suger. It was a 22oz beer that was crisp and finished smooth.

22oz bottle. Pours brown red with a sticky off-white head, spiderweb lace. Smells malty and slightly sweet. Tastes malty and red fruity sweet and caramelly. Sweet, earthy hops kick in toward the finish, red fruit flavors as well. Pretty good, not the most flavorful red I’ve ever had. Medium body, slightly dry, slightly subdued carbonation.

Deep amber-red. Earthy nose with light fruitiness. Moderate bitterness. Nice earthienss, light fruits. Finishes with a warm bread note.

On tap at Coronado Brewery in San Diego, CA--Nice looking amber body with a frothy white head. Nutty, caramel cream nose. Toasty, clean, English feel. Smooth and crisp. Not too bad, but kind of uneventful, too.

Tap @ brewpub. Deep red gorgeous jewel tone hue with no lacing. Smells like a walk along the railroad tracks in the summer: a little metallic malt beneath a fresh bouquet of nuts, grasses, and sweet wildflowers. Some salt. Good quaffable palate. A nice, solid one from one of SD’s best brewpubs!
