I enjoyed this. Served cold from tap. Dark brown with an off-white head. Very little lacing. Smells nutty and malty. Taste is a hint of roasted malts and sweetness. Although not a high-quality brew, this makes for a great session beer.

(11/5/08) Draught sample at the brewpub in Coronado. 5.9%. Dark brown color with amber hues. Nutty toasty aroma. Sweetish flavor with malt, toast, a bit of roastiness and nutty notes. A mildly bitter finish with light hoppiness. Medium-bodied.

On-tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown with a moderate, offwhite head, specks of lace. Smells dark and nutty malty and roasty and sweet. Tastes roasty and dark malty with a good bit of sweet, fruity hops. Pretty nice. Slightly watery. Medium body, good carbonation.

Had at San Diego Brewers Guild Festival 2008. Pours a medium brown. Very sweet malt flavors. Smooth mouth. Decent brown ale.

A good roast in the aroma. This eliminates the bitterness left by the IPA I just had quite nicely. Roasty, creamy and not nutty to me, I like this one a lot. In fact, for me this is one of the best browns that I’ve had!

On tap @ Hamilton’s Tavern San Diego. Pours a mostly clear deep brown, off white head with some lacing. Nose was faint but very nice, good toasted malt aromas. Finish was very smooth and left you wanting more!

On tap at Coronado Brewery--Brown, chestnut body with a small almost nil head. Mild caramel, boozy, sweet nose. Malty, grainy, dry mouthfeel. Finished out thin. Another over-carbonated beer from Coronado.
