A good roast in the aroma. This eliminates the bitterness left by the IPA I just had quite nicely. Roasty, creamy and not nutty to me, I like this one a lot. In fact, for me this is one of the best browns that I’ve had!

Sample at the brewery. pours brown with mocha head. Aroma, caramel malts, some chocolate and toffee. Taste, malty, light nutty notes and chocolate. Finish is lightly bitter with some hops and some nice toasted malts. Easily my fav. beer sampled at the brewery.

On-tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown with a moderate, offwhite head, specks of lace. Smells dark and nutty malty and roasty and sweet. Tastes roasty and dark malty with a good bit of sweet, fruity hops. Pretty nice. Slightly watery. Medium body, good carbonation.

On tap @ Hamilton’s: Thick inch of fluffy cream colored head with an extraordinary long life. Color was an autumn brown hue. Aroma is minor and sweet but to hard to depict what I really smelled due to the atmosphere. Flavor is initially sweet and fruity with a pinch of apple and orange squeeze with minor background of nuts but it maybe just the toasted malt fooling me.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown with a thick tan head. Roasted malt, light nutty and caramelish. Caramelish and liqourice base flavoured. Nice roasted malt base with a light hoppy base flavour. Roasted and liquourice like finish.

On tap at brewery. Dark brown with fizzy white head. Sweet malty aroma with a decent chocolate and nutty taste with a bitter finish.

Draft. Rich brown beer with a light tan head. Nutty malt aroma. Mollases, light chocolate, andf rich toffee flavor. Medium-plus bodied. Toffee lingers with malt, caramel, and light piney hops.
