Commercial Description:
A robust Porter, nearly black in color, with a roast malt flavor from black and chocolate malts. The sharp bitterness from the black malt is balanced with a sweet finish from adequate caramel malt. A full-bodied beer with medium hop bitterness and low hop aroma.

On tap at the Coronado Brewing Company. Poured dark brown with a very small, white head that left lacing around the glass. The aroma is very faint... some burnt chocolate notes and some hops. The taste is smooth; starts out with some roasted malts, chocolate and espresso up front, and follows with a medium hop-presence. This was a decent porter, but a little more hoppy that I’m used to. I think I prefer malts to be dominant if the beer isn’t balanced... it was decent and drinkable, but not one of my favorite porters.

Decent, but not outstanding porter. Decent chocoaltey backbone. Moderate hop presence, but not enough depth to take it to the next level. Still worth having if available.

Very deep brown with a full beige head. A nice bitter aroma, light smoky malts, a touch of nuts, roasted, and some chocolate. Body is a bit thin, but nice. Flavor is of roasted malts, nuts, light chocolate, and a medium bitter finish. A nice porter but not outstanding.

On tap at the brewery. Standard porter. Dark brown pour, offwhite head. Roasted malt, slight smokiness, chocolate, hint of coffee, and hops. I enjoyed it.

On tap at Stone, same "Chocolate Porter". Dark brown to black and small white head. Nose is sharp, bitter, but not strong. Beer is thin in the mouth. Nutty bitter flavor. Dissapointed after drinking thw really good stouts and Old Visc.

Draft at Stone. Was labeled "Chocolate Porter". Pours black with some effervescence and a thin white head. Some roasted malt on the nose. Good powdered coco flavors. Also some nice roasted malt. Mouth with medium bodied with a dry finish.

On-tap at CBC. Pours clearish brown with a resilient, creamy, light brown head, laces the glass all the way down. Smells roasty malty, slightly smokey and also slightly chocolatey sweet. Tastes rich and roasty sweet malty, slightly smokey, some chocolate notes with a slightly sour finish. Medium, smooth body with nice carbonation.
