Commercial Description:
The Red Devil is a double dose of our "Mermaid's Red Ale. We simply doubled the ingredients (double the malt, double the hops) and created an award winning Ale. An incredibly balanced and smooth beer with a strong finish.

TheCheeseman strikes again! Pours a dee maroon color with reddsh hues, and a smallish off white head. Smells of some bready yeast, definite hops, and mild malts for balance. The flavor has a nice dose of floral characters to go along with the grapefrut citrus hops. Very juicy on the palate. I almost get some watermelon in the finish and theaftertaste whic I htought was pleasantly unusual. The alcohol is masked quite proficiently as well. Nice beer.

22oz Bomber-pours a deep amber color w/a foamy tan head & good lacing. Roasted malt/floral hop aroma. This one is almost kind of backward, seems like there is more of an inital malt flavor w/a bitter hop bite on the finish. It is quite strong; really too strong. Has a bit of a soapy finish as well. This one is pretty rough, might age well w/the high alcohol but it is just too far out of balance to me.

Bottle courtesy of DarkElf. Pours dark red with a tan head. Smells of fresh noble hops, sage, some caramel. Nose is wonderful on this. Tastes of caramel, some earthy spice, fresh herbal qualities. Nice!

tap at Stone Bistro - Pours really red with an ample, lasting head. It smells of roast caramel malt and some light citrus hops. It’s easy to drink and though I detect some alcohol presence, I wouldn’t have thought it was over 10%. Medium bodied and with a rich caramel malt, mildly hopped taste, it’s enjoyable.

(Bottle) Pours a cloudy dark red body with a dense tall beige head. Aroma of toasted oats, dark caramel, and nuts. Flavor of roasted malt, burnt caramel, breadiness, cocoa, and hops (orange, grapefruit).

on tap-pours a rich to patchy light brown head that laces and mahogany color. Aroma is cascade-citrus grapefruit, sweet hops, secondary medium malt-chocolate. Taste is potent cascade-citrus grapefruit, sweet hops, secondary medium malt-chocolate, alcohol. Seems unbalanced for first third, then gets better balance. Maybe the 10% alcohol? An imperial red or American Strong Ale. Good carbonation. Sipping. At end… 3.7

On tap @ the Stone World Bistro. Pours a deep reddish amber with lasting tan head and sheet lacing. Very nice looking brew. The aroma is both sweet and roasty mixed with hay, pears, prunes and blueberries. The taste has a great combination of roasty malts and sweeter caramelized malts. Yum. I also get some melodeon malts and a bit of biscuit mixed with mild pine hop bitterness. There’s an added note of fruity esters that runs through the taste experience creating pears, prunes and honeydew. Interesting.

Pours a hazy brown with lots of red too. A beige head lingers. Aroma is very hoppy. Pine, grapefruit, and earthy woody hops are in the aroma. Aroma deceives, as malt comes through. Sweet candy and dark fruits. The hops come through on the back end with nice balanced bitterness. Smoothly carbonated with just the slightest bit of warmth. The only drawback with this one to me is that it comes through slightly medicinal, but this is crazy drinkable. A well made ale.
