Aroma of piney hops, citrus, and caramel. Taste is semi sweet and hoppy with very little malt detected. Flavors of citrus, and hops are however nicely balanced. Nice brew with a dry finish.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 30, 2009 22oz bottle poured into a snifter. It is very dark ruby red with a short ring of bubbles for a head. The smell is oddly slight chocolate and heavy pinecones, which makes me think of chocolate mints. The taste deviates (much like the Idiot IPA) and is very green hops almost like green melon rinds, the malts seem totally overpowered and there is a lingering bitterness. This is a very hoppy beer but I’m not sure I dig the green flavors. For some reason both Coronado brews i have had smelled much better than they taste.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 26, 2009 Murky deep ruby pour with a creamy tan head. Big fruity American hop aroma- some earthy dark berryish notes, big caramelized crystal malt, and a twiggy note and underlying candied mango. Big creamy body, slightly warming. Big crystal malt body with some toasted character and a big hop presence. Berry like fruity notes and lots of resiny twiggy earthy hop character. Has a long piny bitter earthy finish. Big and simple, but a balanced and easy drinking big beer. fiulijn (7170), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy

It has a very nice American hop aroma, with fruits (cedar). Good smooth mouthfeel, caramel flavor, just the necessary sweetness; strong hopping, flavorful, resiny and fruity. Very long final. Not original anymore, but surely very pleasant for hop lovers with a touch of sweetness. ericandersnavy (1065), crossroads, Texas, USA
