Unclear dark amber color with a average to large, creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, nutty, caramel, moderate hoppy, grapefruit, light to moderate yeasty. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090612]

Jul 5, 2009 Dark red brown with decent tan head. Big caramel nose with hint of hops. Heavy roast flavor with a bite of grapefruit. A lot of warmth from the high alcohol and good bitter finish.

Jun 19, 2009 Bottled. An unclear dark amber beer with a huge brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of hops as well as grass and grapefruit. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, grapefruit, and grass, leading to a very bitter finish. The body is on the light side.

Jun 18, 2009 Another old rating. A nice light hop aroma and caramel flavor. Had a solid bitterness and some fruit flavor coming through. THe flavor was pretty potent at the end.

Jun 14, 2009 Aroma of toast and sweet caramel that you could smell without even putting your nose in the class. Murcky read body with tan head. Left a blanket of lacing on the pint glass. Good mix of caramel malts and chocolate with a thicker body texture. Smooth on the palate. An enjoyable beer.
