Commercial Description:
The Red Devil is a double dose of our "Mermaid's Red Ale. We simply doubled the ingredients (double the malt, double the hops) and created an award winning Ale. An incredibly balanced and smooth beer with a strong finish.

Black Cherry Hop delight in this bottle of Red Devil. Pours very dark amber with ginormous, rocky, meringue like head that jiggles oh so well. Nose is seductive with black cherries, candied hop citrus, and a slight metalic "clean" smell. Palate is rich with caramel & biscuity malt, some of the aforementioned cherry character, and a metallic hop presence to round it out. The alcohol level is masked very well. I’m in love with this one!

Bottle shared by Hophead22. Pours a hazy dark mahogany with a small tan head. Aroma is roasty and fruity with a good amount of fresh citrusy hops. Flavor is malty but not particularly sweet. Mostly caramel and roast with a nice bold hop bitterness. Lots of hop character, lots of malt character, but still manages to be perfectly balanced and very easy to drink and refreshing. Palate sits perfectly between medium and full with a nice smooth carbonation. This manages to be awesome without being over the top.

On tap Hamiltons. Deep rich auburn color. Malt. caramel and spice nose. Rich body and deceptively drinkable at 10%. A great Double Red ale

22oz bottle. Gorgeous color, dark red/mahogany. Rich, dark fruity aroma, some muted hops. Very full flavored, rich malts, dark fruits with a real nice hop bite in the end, this is very good.

Bottle and enjoyed in my GI IPA tulip: Pours a deep reddish brown hue with a huge fluffy head which left outstanding lace upon the glass. The aroma has a surprisingly fresh resiny and citric hop profile along with nice caramel and rye bread malt, hint of hazelnut, simple syrup, and a peaty earthy yeast vapour.

The taste pretty much matches the nose with a hop forward character balanced somewhat by sweet and sugary malts. A wicked nice hop spice and minerally finish with just a trace of alcohol. The mouth feel is sharp and aggressive with a chalky and metallic finish, again only a slight warming upon the chest as I drank it.

This is what American Strong Ales are all about, brash bold and hoppy. This is more hoppy than many IIPA out there but then has some nice balance too. I would have to say that this beer is vastly underrated. MIKEY LIKEY and even better than Yulesmith Winter IMO.

Bottle courtesy of DarkElf. Pours dark red with a tan head. Smells of fresh noble hops, sage, some caramel. Nose is wonderful on this. Tastes of caramel, some earthy spice, fresh herbal qualities. Nice!

Aroma of toast and sweet caramel that you could smell without even putting your nose in the class. Murcky read body with tan head. Left a blanket of lacing on the pint glass. Good mix of caramel malts and chocolate with a thicker body texture. Smooth on the palate. An enjoyable beer.

Pours unusually dark with a lingering head. Great lacing. Smells like ruby red grapefruit. Full and viscous with soft and slightly creamy effers. A huge malt backbone supports the jagged hop infusion. Not too sweet and very warming although alcohol not abrasive. Strict citrus rind on the finish lingers.
