Commercial Description:
It has a very big head indeed - pour it gently - and a very clean palate, beginning with a dry, lightly citric fruitiness, and finishing with a distinctive and delicate, perfumy, hop character. Very light and fluffy in texture, giving little hint of its strength.

.33 bottle from Brewer’s Art. Don’t really remember anything about it, so I’m just marking it as drank and I’ll review it later.

750 ml bottle from Total Wine in Tustin ($7.99). Pours a cloudy honey yellow with three fingers of white head. Aroma of bready malts, dry yeast, hoppy esters (citrus, pear). Nice fruit flavors (banana, pear, citrus) along with light yeast and light spice. Nice sweet and dry finish with good carbonation. Alcohol is undetectable, but then 7.5% is kind of light for a tripel.

330 mL bottle from Total Wine in Norfolk (best by March 11, 2011). Yellowish-orange pour with a fizzy white head. Aroma is lightly sour with bready yeast and a hint of Belgian candi sugar. Sweet at first with some citric flavor and a very dry finish. Everything is very well balanced. This is one of the better Tripels out there.

750 mL bottle, split with my dad on 11/7/09. Very nice, fruity aroma. Apple juice, peach, and bubblegum scents. Wheaty and, to a lesser extent, yeasty smell. Pours a pale gold to straw color. The liquid is mostly clear with some haze. Large amount of uneven, nearly white head that is frothy with large bubbles. Sweet initial taste with a dry finish. Floral and fruity. Nice taste, but not particularly complex. A little bit of chalk or dirt in the finish. Dry aftertaste. Light to medium body. Unremarkable palate effects. A pleasant if unspectacular brew.

solid beer. This is very light tasting. I’m in shock that it is 7.5%. where is all the booze? Very smooth taste, go for it

33cl Bottle. Pours a huge airy, white head. Pale golden color, average cloudiness with lots of small yeast particles. Aroma of fresh citruses, bread and coriander. The flavor is initially sweet and bready then gets dry, salty. Medium body, easily drinkable texture, lively carbonation.

Pours a light golden color with a huge white foaming head and lots of effervesence. Nose is bread, yeast and citrus. Very creamy on the palate. Taste is slightly sweet, with notes of fresh baked bread and citrus. No bitterness on the finish, but very satisfying. A superior brew, this Abbey Tripel is a good companion to a baguette, cheese and thee.

33cl bottle as shown, at ’’Le Belge’’ in Offenbach. Hazy golden yellow colour, with big, creamy white head. Creamy mouthfeel, medium-bodied blonde tripel - medium to active carbonation. Yeasty and hoppy aroma, flavour is hoppy with a fruity, citrusy green banana note, dry finish, alcoholic after taste. One of the more likeable Belgian tripels, this one isn’t too sweet, quite the contrary. Well-balanced and quite sessionable - so be careful. ;=)
