Commercial Description:
It has a very big head indeed - pour it gently - and a very clean palate, beginning with a dry, lightly citric fruitiness, and finishing with a distinctive and delicate, perfumy, hop character. Very light and fluffy in texture, giving little hint of its strength.

Pours a hazy golden color with a white pillowy head. The aroma is of spice and bananas. Some yeast and citrus is also prevalent in the nose. Very lively carbonation accentuates the mouthfeel. Tastes of spice, mostly clove, some alcohol, a nice hint of bananas and definitely orange peel. Finishes lightly bitter and refreshing.

Bottle. Pours clear gold (I remember it to pour hazy when kept too cold for too long) with wide head.Strong and sweet aroma of herbs and yeast. Tastes like herbs, sweet malts, some yeast. Very good beer.

Bottle – best before 5/6/09. Pours a hazy orange with a ton of floaters and a 3 finger white head that remained like a iceberg through the entire glass. The nose is bubblegum, spicy yeast and ripe citrus. The taste is spicy yeast, crisp citrus and sweet malt. Medium prickly mouthfeel. Good beer. A touch sweet, but not as sweet as the aroma would indicate.

#200 rate this month. 33cl bottle cloudy yellow/orange, medium sized thick head, good lacing, but appears a bit messy. extremely nice sweet (vanilla) spicy (could be cardemom) aroma supplemented with a fresh citrus note, gourmet aroma. subtle bot very well composed. also remind me a bit of hefeweizen aroma. wheat? flavor is spicy belgian brew, tilted a bit to the sweet side, not ripe fruits, but more cake like. still nicely balanced by the now very faint citric note as well as some alc and perhaps hops. This is one of the best belgians i’ve tasted, it’s well tasting, mild, complex , but not overwhelming. i seldom like too sweet beers or cake, but this one flirts with those flavors and gets away with it, due to balancing it with other stuff. marvellous.

33cl bottle poured into a Chimay Trappist glass. Cloudy orange with two fingers of head. Smells like spiced apples. A nice spicy taste with a hoppy finish. Smooth with a bit of carbonation. Good brew.

Pours gold and slightly hazy with a lasting white head. Smells of perfume, dry pilsner malt, fresh fruit, light citrus. Tastes spicy and dry with some peppery splashes on a dry finish.

From a 355 ml. bottle marked 22/05/10-H-10:24. It pours a cloudy but pale yellow with a foamy, sandy looking one finger head. No sedimentation though. The head sticks around. The aroma is heavy on the yeast and weaker on the malts and grains. Medum, honey-like mouthfeel. The flavor is also on the yeasty side with a herbal and dry hop chaser and even drier finish. A decent Abbey pale ale and true to the style.
